Default css or table-based?

in these modern times, the current design trends on most websites (even large companies websites) use external css on their pages. There are many advantages using external css when designing a website. As far as I know, your pages must not be in a table-based design. The main purpose of tables is to use it in making tables in the sites, not i making a layout design. I'm discouraging the use of table-based layout design.

Advantages:
• They download and render faster loading than table-based (because of no heavy graphics)
• They are more friendlier on site indexing on Search Engines
• The design is much cleaner and pleasing to the eye

It really depends on the situation. If you want to make a quick website that explains the basics, per se, of something then you would use Tables. If you want to make a visually asethetic and well made site, you would use CSS.

another thing is the usability....

people who cannot read which is using a speech reader program will not be able to get the correct table order...

that's why you shouldn't use table to create a web page when you don't need to...

I use both Tables and CSS in my web designs. I enjoy using both of them for scalabillity issues.
