Is cloning legal?

I have seen a number of scripts being sold in Ebay and they are cloned websites. I wonder what do you think of legal issue with those cloned sites?

To have websites similar to other sites should not be illegal. Otherwise there will not be any cars on the roads as all cars are similar having 4 wheels.

What are you people talking about? It is not illegal. If you have a "myspace clone" or a "youtube clone" that's not illegal. It's illegal when you copy the site exactly (the actual CODE - and sometimes design) of the site. But having a similar theme is NOT illegal.

I agree with you. To have similar sites is not illegal otherwise many sites will have problems with it and will face legall action.

if someone have made the script himself may be it looks like the any other one then it could not illegal and if the real script is nulled to make it look like a new one or other then it is illegal

How it is illegal can anyone explain. If yes then there should be only one dating site. Or only one forum for one topic

So far, nothing wrong with that. Its because too many people already manage to did that. You can see too many youtube clone site today right? So, its hard for us to stop that.
