good web design: effective use of colors

In designing your webpages, it is important that the colors of text, background, buttons etc are all in a color scheme so that they will be pleasing in the eyes of every visitor of your site.

I found one website, that has a online-based color schemer. It is www.colorschemer.com/online

They have also a software for scheming the color of your choice.

Yes, you are right. In my case, I made all my icons from scratch, so it was difficult, but I managed.

wow.. you made your icons from scratch? I, myself, had no time to make all those icons (it's irritating to do them because of their small size)...

as for me, that site i mention above gave me a wonderful color scheme for my site because I am not artistic. This will greatly help people like me.

Don't tell anybody, but I got some "help" on my icons from Snagit. I wasn't really sure anyone was going to like them. I didn't make them all at once, It took me a couple weeks. If you want, I can make some for you, just tell me a size, color, etc. and I can make some for you for free.

Well, basically I agree with you. However, another important aspect to look for is to use colors that reflect the theme of your website. For example, if a website will be something like money making and gold talk, bright gold color with black lining would be best. The main reason for choosing a color scheme should be in a way try to convey the mood, attitude and the message one is trying to get through to the readers. Just my thought though. Anybody got anything else to share?

Nice links man.But i would like to tell that the color choices are different for different people.Some likes light shades and some dark.Some people likes very graphical designs and some like simple designs.If u want to have a professional site,then better to manage all colors of the site blend each other and dont appear irritating to the site users.
